This matter arises out of the unlawful cutting and removal of trees without landowner consent. We granted certiorari to consider (1) whether the landowners in this case are entitled to recover restoration costs under La.Civ.Code art. 2315 where the cost of restoration exceeds the value of the property prior to the cutting; or (2) whether, under the facts of this case, the landowners are limited to recovery...
