On December 11, 2003, defendant, Dennis Davis, was charged by bill of information with one count of intimidating and impeding a witness by force or threats of force, in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:129.1. At arraignment on December 15, 2003, he entered a plea of not guilty. On March 24, 2004, the trial court held a sanity hearing and found defendant competent to proceed to trial.
