The petitioner, Lde Crane, is currently charged with driving while under the influence, AS 28.35.030(a), and refusal to take a breath test, AS 28.35.032(f). He is awaiting trial in the district court. In this petition, Crane asserts (correctly) that he is entitled to the assistance of counsel in defending himself against these charges.
