Sonja Jackson sued the State of Louisiana and E.A. Conway Medical Center (herein referred to jointly as "Conway") for damages after surgery to remove fibroid tumors from her uterus and to open her fallopian tubes resulted in the removal of her uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries. She alleged lack of informed consent for the surgery and medical malpractice as grounds for recovery. The trial court ruled in favor of the defendants, and Ms. Jackson now appeals...
