Defendant, Richard L. Hopson, was originally charged with one count of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and one count of conspiracy to distribute marijuana. The State agreed to dismiss the conspiracy charge and not to file a habitual offender bill of information in exchange for Defendant's guilty plea to the possession charge.
