Gary R. Heitzman sued his stepbrother, Harlan Thompson; Dale B. Meyer; and Cynthia Struve for intentional infliction of emotional distress. The claim arose when Thompson, a licensed funeral director, transported and embalmed the body of Heitzman's father without notifying him.
