The primary issue in this appeal is whether the trial court properly rendered judgment dismissing the motion to correct an illegal sentence1 that was filed by the defendant, Tarrance Lawrence. The court concluded that it lacked jurisdiction to consider the motion. We hold that the court had jurisdiction to consider the claim, but that, as a matter of law, the sentence was not illegal...
