During the summer of 2001 Thad Shafer had four frightening encounters with Alan Dill, one of his co-workers at Kal Kan Foods. Six months after the last of these Shafer was fired. He contends that Kal Kan discharged him in retaliation for his complaints about Dill, complaints that he insists are protected by Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
