CARLEY, Justice.

After a jury trial, Jesus Godoy Tavera was found guilty of malice murder, aggravated assault, and two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. The trial court entered judgments of conviction and sentenced Tavera to life imprisonment for the murder, a consecutive 20-year term for the aggravated assault, and consecutive 5-year terms for the weapons offenses. A motion for new trial was denied, and he appeals.
