Originally, the defendant, Charlene Henderson, was charged by bill of information with second degree murder, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:30.1. Pursuant to a plea agreement, the state filed an amended bill of information charging defendant with manslaughter, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:31, to which defendant pled guilty, and there was no sentence recommendation. The district court imposed a sentence of 16 years at hard labor with credit for time served...
