The seven defendants were convicted after a three-month jury trial of a variety of federal offenses, including mail fraud, RICO, and money laundering, arising out a scheme to defraud the Town of Cicero, Illinois. (Bonnie LaGiglio, however, was convicted only of a tax offense.) They received prison sentences ranging from 41 to 151 months, as well as being ordered to forfeit a total of $4 million in proceeds of their fraud (plus two real estate...
