Philip P. Sheridan was convicted of misdemeanor driving while intoxicated in 2003.1 Because Sheridan had two prior convictions for this offense, he faced a mandatory minimum sentence of 60 days' imprisonment.2 But Sheridan argued that his prior convictions were constitutionally invalid and that, for this reason, they should not be counted when determining his mandatory...
