ELDER, Judge.

William White, Jr., (appellant) appeals from his convictions for first-degree murder and assault and battery on a police officer. On appeal, he contends the trial court erroneously (1) denied his pretrial motion for a continuance; (2) granted the Commonwealth's motion to preclude him from offering evidence relevant to an insanity defense; and (3) denied his post-trial motion for a mental evaluation.
