A jury convicted Kevin Michael Phillips of vehicular homicide and vehicular assault. RCW 46.61.520, .522. One of Phillips's passengers died at the scene and the other was critically injured when the car Phillips was driving crossed the centerline, left the road, and crashed into a telephone pole, shearing the pole in two.
