On September 20, 1999, Petitioner, Robin McKennel Lovitt ("Lovitt"), was convicted in the Circuit Court for Arlington County of both robbery and capital murder. Following a sentencing hearing on March 1, 2000, and in accordance with the jury verdict, Lovitt was sentenced to death.
