This appeal raises substantive and procedural questions concerning the domestic effect of a guardianship judgment issued by a court of another nation.

Appellant, Leila Hilkmann, and Appellee, Dirk Hilkmann, are the parents of Daniel Hilkmann, born in 1981, and a younger daughter, Natalie. As a result of complications from birth, Daniel suffers from neurological impairment affecting his mental and physical condition...
