The Plaintiffs, Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center ("Hopkins hospitals"), are licensed hospitals in Baltimore, Maryland. The Hopkins hospitals filed a complaint in the Baltimore City Circuit Court on October 14, 2003 against the Defendant, CareFirst of Maryland, Inc. ("CareFirst").
