Plaintiff commenced this medical malpractice action to recover for the wrongful death of his wife, Frances E. Postlethwaite (hereinafter decedent), who had been admitted to a hospital in Broome County complaining of abdominal pain. Exploratory abdominal surgery was scheduled two days later.
