Claimant, a butcher, injured his back on April 15, 1998 when he attempted to catch a hindquarter of meat as it was falling out of a delivery van. He promptly saw an orthopedic surgeon who diagnosed him with chronic lumbar radiculitis with acute exacerbation, and osteoarthritis of the right hip.
