Defendant appeals from the trial court's judgment having been found guilty of first-degree murder, and sentenced to life imprisonment without parole. The State's evidence tended to show the following: On 1 February 2001, around 5:15 p.m., Officer Wilde of the Greensboro Police Department (GPD) pulled over a vehicle for tag violations. Defendant, a passenger, fled the vehicle when it came to a stop. Officer Wilde apprehended defendant about 200 meters...
