Keith Askins appeals the order dismissing his renewed personal injury action. We reverse for the reasons set forth below.

The record shows that Askins was injured on July 28, 2001, when a vehicle owned and operated by Colon allegedly struck Askins's leg. Askins originally filed suit against Colon on September 25, 2002. Colon answered on November 4, 2002, raising all service defenses. The two-year statute of limitation expired in July 2003. However...
