A criminal defendant resolved three cases involving six felony charges by a plea agreement that cut his possible prison time in half, with a guaranteed maximum and minimum of 12 years. Before entering his no contest pleas, the defendant acknowledged that the court "must impose a restitution fine of between $200 and $10,000." At sentencing, without objection by the defendant, the court imposed restitution fines totaling $6,800...
