On October 4, 1996, Matthew Parsons, Zakee Abdul-Hameed, Lavell Jones, Carl "Haniff" Dukes and defendant forced their way into Eric Mitchell's apartment at 195 Clinton Avenue in the City of Albany. After incapacitating and robbing two persons in the apartment, they stole property belonging to Mitchell, who was not present.
