Following a 1997 criminal trial in Saratoga County, defendant Jeffrey M. Himmel was convicted of sodomy in the third degree and several other crimes in connection with his physical and sexual assault of plaintiffs, who were then members of Troop 2, a Boy Scout troop to which Himmel served as a volunteer assistant scoutmaster.
