After a jury-waived trial in the District Court, the defendant was convicted of burning a motor vehicle, G. L. c. 266, § 5, and burning insured property with the intent to defraud an insurer, G. L. c. 266, § 10. The Appeals Court affirmed the judgments of conviction. Commonwealth v. Jones, 59 Mass.App.Ct. 157, 163 (2003).
