In this case a longshoreman employed by a stevedoring company seeks to recover under the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act, ("Longshore Act"), 33 U.S.C. §§ 901-950 (2000), from the shipowner for injuries he suffered while unloading the ship.
