Under Washington's uniform child custody jurisdiction and enforcement act (UCCJEA), chapter 26.27 RCW, Washington courts have subject matter jurisdiction to determine child custody in certain specified situations. Those situations include that in which the child has no home state as defined in the UCCJEA, the child and at least one parent have a significant connection to Washington, and substantial evidence concerning the child's care is available in Washington...
