On November 21, 2003, immediately after a jury acquitted defendant, a licensed cardiologist, of one count of sexual abuse in the third degree (Penal Law § 130.55), the trial court, upon the oral application of the People, stayed the sealing of the record for 30 days, without explanation and over the objection of defense counsel.
