Paul Gronnert pled guilty to possession of ephedrine with intent to manufacture. He faced a standard range of 21 to 27 months. To obtain release from jail between his plea hearing and sentencing, Gronnert agreed to accept an exceptional sentence of 60 months if he violated the conditions of release.
