Following a jury trial, defendant, Lavelle Hudson, was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to 22 years' imprisonment. On appeal, he contends that (1) he was denied his constitutional rights to due process and trial by jury because the trial court gave the non-Illinois Pattern Jury Instruction (IPI) on proximate causation in felony murder tendered by the State, which, he claims, constituted an incorrect statement...
