Jason Hummel pled guilty to burglary (720 ILCS 5/19-1(a) (West 2000)) and was convicted of aggravated battery following a bench trial (720 ILCS 5/12-4(a) (West 2000)). The court sentenced the defendant to an extended term of ten year's imprisonment for aggravated battery and a consecutive six-year term for burglary.
