I. INTRODUCTION

After a fire destroyed his garage and its contents, plaintiff, Martin Wasik, made a claim under a homeowners insurance policy that defendant, Allstate Insurance Company, had issued to him. Claiming that plaintiff's stepson intentionally started the fire, defendant denied coverage. Plaintiff commenced this breach-of-contract action.
