Defendant, Brandon Hall, was charged with two counts of attempted second degree murder in violation of La. R.S. 14:30.1 and 14:27. Hall pled not guilty at arraignment.

Prior to trial defendant filed a motion in limine requesting that the court declare that the State, rather than the defendant, had the burden of proving beyond a reasonable doubt the justification defense in a non-homicide situation...
