STATEMENT OF THE CASE

On December 24, 1998, Tyrone Anderson, a twenty-four year old male, experienced pain in his left side radiating into his left testicle. At the time the pain began, Anderson was working at Shoney's as a busboy. He went to the Meadowcrest Hospital Emergency Room and reported his symptoms to a triage nurse.
