Appellant, John Allen Rutherford, was convicted by a jury in the Circuit Court for Harford County of second degree rape, second degree sex offense, two counts of third degree sex offense, and child abuse.1 He was sentenced to twenty years' imprisonment for rape, with concurrent sentences of twenty years for second degree sex offense and ten years for each third degree sex offense, and a sentence of fifteen years for child abuse...
