This case, which arises from appellee Bessie Cross's injurious fall on a Metrobus, has been in this court once before. In Cross v. Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), 740 A.2d 977 (D.C.1999), we reversed the trial court's grant of WMATA's motion for a directed verdict.
