The defendant, Ernest Ray Wilson, Jr., was charged by bill of information with armed robbery, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:64 and simple escape, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:110(A)(1). After a bench trial, the defendant was found guilty as charged. Thereafter, the state filed an habitual bill of information against the defendant.
