WEST, J.

The defendant, Linda M. Stevens, appeals from the sentence imposed on her by the trial court subsequent to her plea of guilty under the doctrine of North Carolina v. Alford, 400 U.S. 25, 91 S.Ct. 160, 27 L.Ed.2d 162 (1970),1 to the charge of possession of narcotics in violation of General Statutes § 21a-279 (a). The plea was made pursuant to a Garvin agreement.
