In this medical malpractice/informed consent case, the defendants, Dr. Thomas A. Borland (Dr. Borland) and his insurer, Louisiana Medical Mutual Insurance Company (Louisiana Medical), appeal the judgment of the trial court in favor of the plaintiffs, Katherine and John Mannina, which found that Dr. Borland failed to obtain Mrs. Mannina's informed consent prior to performing varicose vein surgery.
