Before us are two unrelated cases involving respondents admitted involuntarily to state-operated mental health facilities pursuant to the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Code (the Code) (405 ILCS 5/1-100 et seq. (West 2000)). The cases were heard on the same day by the same trial judge. In each instance, the court rejected challenges by the respondents' counsel that the State had failed to comply...
