The appellant, Hewitt Patrick Robert, Jr., was convicted in the Opelika Municipal Court of harassing communications, a violation of § 19-446(b)(1), Code of Ordinances of the City of Opelika. The municipal court sentenced him to serve a term of ninety days in the city jail and fined him $500. He appealed his conviction to the Lee Circuit Court for a trial de novo, and he was again convicted of harassing communications...
