In July 2002, Michael A. Hayes was found guilty of residential burglary (720 ILCS 5/19-3 (West 2000)) and theft of property having a value exceeding $300 (720 ILCS 5/16-1(a)(4) (West 2000)). In August 2002, the trial court sentenced defendant to concurrent terms of 15 years in prison for residential burglary and 3 years in prison for theft of property having a value exceeding $300 with credit for 133 days...
