Sherry D. Roth Rehfeld ("the mother") appeals from a judgment of the Madison Circuit Court that, among other things, denied her petition to modify custody of two minor daughters born of the mother's marriage to Karl D. Roth ("the father"). Because we conclude that the trial court improperly required the mother to satisfy the more stringent of two legal standards applicable under Alabama law to child-custody disputes between fit parents, we reverse...
