The trial court entered a judgment in favor of the plaintiff, Furniture L.L.C. (Furniture), finding that it had a vested right to build a residential structure on property which it owned that was later down-zoned. The defendant, the City of Chicago (the City), appeals this ruling, arguing that Furniture did not have a vested right to build under the prior zoning ordinance.
