On January 9, 1997, Janie Sawyer ("Sawyer"), as the widow and dependent of Bobby Mack Sawyer ("the employee"), sued Kimberly-Clark Corporation, seeking workers' compensation benefits pursuant to § 25-5-60, Ala.Code 1975, following the death of her husband, a former employee of Kimberly-Clark.
