A jury found Terrance Sutton guilty of first degree murder (720 ILCS 5/9-1(a)(1) (West 1996)) for the stabbing death of Tiffany Hankins. Defendant was sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections for 100 years. Defendant's conviction was reversed and the case remanded for retrial. People v.
