Thurnell Smith and Eric Bryant were each charged with two counts of aggravated assault in connection with the attempted armed robbery of a grocery store. The men were tried together by a jury, and each defendant was found guilty of both charges. The trial court merged the counts and sentenced each defendant on one count of aggravated assault. Smith and Bryant filed separate appeals but, because the facts are the same, we have consolidated...
