Defendant, Terrence O'Brien, appeals his conviction after trial by jury on both counts of an indictment charging him with the purposeful or knowing murder, N.J.S.A. 2C:11-3, of his sister, Noreen O'Brien, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4(d). After merging the weapons conviction into the murder conviction, defendant was sentenced to a term of life imprisonment...
