Plaintiff Ricky Pierce ("Pierce") owns a house located at 107 Beech Street, Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. On 5 April 1999, defendant Tammy Reichard ("Ms. Reichard") signed a lease in which she agreed to rent the house from Pierce for $300 per month, plus a $300 security deposit.
