The Board on Professional Responsibility, in accord with the Hearing Committee, has found that respondent, William H. Butterfield, violated Rule 1.7(b)(1) and (2) of the District of Columbia Rules of Professional Conduct when he failed to perform a conflicts check and failed to obtain written consents, or to withdraw, once he learned of the conflict.
